Land's End: Visiting Guide & Nearby
The most westerly point of mainland England is all granite cliffs, Atlantic swell and the Longships Lighthouse out at sea. Here's how to see it at its best, and what's worth visiting nearby.
What to see
- The cliffs and the Longships Lighthouse. Walk out to the viewpoints, and on a clear day you may spot the Isles of Scilly on the horizon.
- The signpost is a classic photo stop. An official photo with your own message on the sign is a paid extra.
- The visitor centre has cafés, shops and family attractions. Parking is charged.
Tip: For the best experience, skip the busy middle of the day. Go early or for sunset, or walk in along the coast path from Sennen.
Walk from Sennen Cove
The coast path from Sennen Cove to Land's End is about a mile along the clifftops, with lovely views back over Whitesand Bay. It's one of the easiest and most rewarding short walks in the far west.
Nearby
- Porthcurno and the Minack Theatre are a few miles round the coast.
- Cape Cornwall, owned by the National Trust, is a quieter headland to the north with its distinctive chimney.
- Geevor Tin Mine at Pendeen is good if the weather turns.
- Penzance is the nearest town, with buses to Land's End.
Where to eat nearby
- The Gurnard's Head, Treen, near Zennor
- The Old Coastguard, The Parade, Mousehole
